Shoup Residence, New Castle, WA
After receiving a Professional Degree in Architecture from the University of Washington in 1972. Dymond Nicon became lead designer for a couple of Architectural Firms in the Seattle area. In 1976, the Architectural Firm of Dymond Nicon & Associates, A.I.A. was established in Redmond, Washington. As principle and lead designer of the firm, Dymond Nicon, provided services for a number of building types including single family residential design for both custom clients and local contractors, multifamily housing projects, retail and office buildings. During this time, the firm recieved a number of A.I.A Awards, Golden Nugget Builder's Awards and Real Estate Awards for the single family and office building projects in the Seattle-Bellevue metropoliton area. The firm was continually being published in newspapers and national magazines for their inovative design solutions. Dymond Nicon also became the chairman of the Issaquah Design Commission, a position which reviewed all commerical development within the city limits of Issaquah, Washington.

In 1991, Dymond Nicon & Associates, A.I.A. reclocated their office to Bellingham, Washington at which time they incorporated and renamed the firm Nicon International, Inc. The name was derived from their close proximity to Canada boarder and their increasing client base that provided them with projects in the Asian countries of China, Phillipines and Malyasa.
Today, Nicon International, Inc. continues to provide services for the private sector. Their projects have been extended to provide masterplanning of residential neighborhoods, financial feasibility and project assessments of commerical developments, mixed use developments, hotels and other projects while still holding onto their previous base of clients and project types.
Tailoring their services to the client and their project, the design team includes architects, surveyors, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineers, soils engineering, landscape architects, interior design, environmental consultants, archeologists, cost estimating, building envelope consultants and land use legal assistance.
